I love making up new recipes.
It is fun to get the creative juices flowing!
It is even better when you have someone
cooking along with you.
Last night, with my wonderful hubby, I tried
a new recipe that I dreamed up.
I must say, it was pretty good.
Now, it was a little on the spicy side.
Thus, the name. However, you could
adjust the heat by using less spicy ingredients.
The choice is completely up to you!
Cheesy Spicy Cube Steak
6 pieces of cube steak
1 can of mushrooms - drained
1 can Ro*Tel diced tomatoes - drained
1 can Campbell's Fiesta Nacho Cheese Soup - undiluted
I love this coating mix! It is amazing.
I love shopping at Cabela's for different spices.
I used the Ro*Tel tomatoes with added chilies
and the Fiesta Nacho cheese. This is where
you can adjust the heat by using regular cheddar
cheese soup and regular diced tomatoes.
1. Beat three eggs in bowl.
2. Pour some coating mix into a Ziploc bag
and place one piece of cube steak at a time
3. Then dredge in beaten egg.
4. Then dredge in more coating mix that you
have placed in a shallow dish.
5. While coating the steak, begin heating about 1/2
inch of vegetable oil in a skillet.
6. When oil gets hot, carefully place coated
steak into skillet.
7. While the steak is cooking, mix the soup,
tomatoes and mushrooms in a medium
saucepan. Heat over medium heat until
*NOTE* I added a little splash of milk
to the mixture to thin out the sauce.
This is completely up to you on how
thick you would like the sauce.
8. Cook steak until coating is golden
brown and cooked to your favorite
temperature (medium or higher).
9. Serve steak topped with cheese sauce.
Again, you can vary the spiciness of this
dish based on your heat preference.
