Mississippi Roast (My Version)

I love roasts. My men love roasts.
There are so many different things you can do
with roasts. However, I honestly think I have
now found my go to roast.

As you know, I am a Pinterest addict.
I am always searching for new recipes on there.
So, when this one recipe kept popping up,
I had to give it a try. Plus, with only FIVE
ingredients, it definitely is a recipe for me.

Now, I call this my version because I vary from the
recipe just a little bit. The original recipe calls for
five pepperoncini peppers. However, I did not
have any the first time I tried the recipe. So, I left them out.
It turned out really good. However, I plan to try
the original version very soon.

Also, I need to apologize. I always try to have pictures
of every step of the recipe. However, I messed up
tonight. While downloading the pictures, I accidentally
deleted four pictures. UGH!! So, the next time
I make the roast, I will include the pics.

Mississippi Roast
The original recipe can be found here.

You will need:

A chuck roast
One package of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
One package of McCormick's Au Jus
One stick of butter

1. Spray slow cooker with cooking spray.

2. Place roast into cooker.

3. Sprinkle roast with Ranch dressing mix.

4. Sprinkle roast with Au Jus mix.

5. Place the entire stick of butter on the roast.
(Oh, yeah! Gotta love the butter!)

6. Put the lid on your slow cooker.
Set the timer for 8 hours and walk away.

This is absolutely the best roast.

The taste is wonderful. The gravy is delicious.
I pour the gravy over the meat when I serve the roast.
I also make mashed potatoes with this meal so I can
have even more gravy.

Did you notice one thing about this recipe?!?!
You add NO WATER!
The butter and juices from the meat does
it all for you. Nice, very nice!

Hope you enjoy!!

Love to you all from the
Busy Cookin' WV Momma!!
