Sriracha Ground Beef Stroganoff

It truly amazes me how many different recipes there are for Stroganoff. I mean, just Google the word and just see how many entries come up. It is actually very mind boggling.

I have tried many different varieties of Stroganoff over the years. However, I wanted to spice it up a little this time.  Thus, bring out one my favorite ingredients - Sriracha!! Nothing screams spice like Sriracha. Plus, honestly, it is just really fun to say.

Also, I wanted to keep cost down for this meal, So, instead of using round steak or such, I used ground beef. If you trying to keep within the family budget, this is an easy way to save a few pennies.

Another twist I incorporated was cream cheese. By using the cream cheese, I think it made it more creamier. Also again, it saved on cost for us this time, because I already had some in my refrigerator.

You will need:
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 8oz pkg of sliced mushrooms
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 Tbsp butter
1 8oz pkg of cream cheese, cubed
3 Tbsp Sriracha sauce
Garlic powder
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Pasta of your choice

1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Drain and set aside.

2. In the same pan, add the onion, mushroom and butter. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until mushrooms and onion are soft but not overcooked.

3. Once the onions/mushrooms are done, add in the soup,

cream cheese,

Sriracha sauce,

and another dash or two of garlic powder.

4. Stir well to combine all the flavors.

5. Add back in the cooked ground beef and simmer for about 5 minutes.

6. Serve over your choice of pasta.

I realize that it does not look as pretty as when steak is used. However, believe me, what it lacks in looks, it makes up for in flavor.

I hope you enjoy!!
