Jerk Chops

One thing you can not say about this family, we are NOT afraid of spice. As I have said before, bring on the spice.

I have been craving pork chops for several days now. However, recent winter storm Thor kept me from getting to the grocery store. So, to celebrate the hubby's and my 17th wedding anniversary, I made pork chops.

The main star of this recipe is a Jamaican Jerk seasoning I bought from our local meat market.

This spice is made by the Teeny Tiny Spice Company of Vermont. They have many different flavors and spice ratings. We purchased ours from Johnnies' Fresh Meat Market at the Capitol Market in Charleston, WV.

Now on to the recipe!

You will need:
6 bone-in pork chops
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp Jamaican Jerk seasoning
1 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 to 3 Tbsp Worcestershire

You will notice that is "tub" butter in the picture. You can use stick butter if you would like. However, just let it soften. Do not melt the butter. You want a creamy mixture.

Spray baking dish with cooking pan and arrange chops in the baking dish.

In a bowl, mix together the butter, seasoning, brown sugar and Worcestershire. Mix until a creamy mixture is achieved.

Spread mix generously on each chop.

Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated 400 degree oven.

I served my chops with mushroom rice and peas.

I loved that not only did you get the heat  from the jerk seasoning, but you also get that hint of sweet from the brown sugar. The combination of those two ingredients just gave the chops a wonderful flavor.

I hope you enjoy!!

Love to you all from The Busy Cooking Momma!
