"Fried" Green Beans

If you had told me when I was younger that I would be writing a recipe that included canned green beans as an ingredient, I would have laughed at you. No offense, but I would have laughed. See, canned green beans and I have had a love/hate relationship since I was a little kid. I personally did not like them when I was younger. The rule in the house was I had to eat FIVE green beans anytime they were served. I ate them but I did not like them. Thankfully, my aversion to canned green beans has changed a little as I have gotten older.

Even now, if you just open a can of green beans, I will only eat a couple. However, if you "doctor" them up, I will eat the entire pan. I think this all stems from my love of fresh green beans and the way that they are prepared.

Over the last couple of years, I have worked and tweaked this recipe over and over again. I have added ingredients and deleted ingredients. However, this has been my main recipe now for the last year. I really like the flavor of these beans. It has a nice garlic flavor but it is not overpowering. Also, you can make these spicy or nonspicy depending on your preference. It is a versatile recipe.

Now on to the recipe!

You will need:
2 1/2 Tbsp butter
2 cans green beans, drained
1 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
2 1/2 Tbsp Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp McCormick's Grill Mates Spicy Montreal Steak Seasoning
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt

In a large skillet, melt your butter.

Once butter is melted, add in your two cans of green beans.

Now, begin adding your seasonings - Black pepper

Minced garlic

Onion powder

Steak seasoning - this is where you can adjust whether you would like it spicy or not. If you do not want spicy green beans, then you can use the original steak seasoning by McCormick's.

And finally add your salt.

Mix everything together.

Now, add in your grated Parmesan cheese.

Give everything a good stir again, cover skillet with a lid and allow to cook for 10 minutes.

I promise you, I could eat the entire skillet of these and not think twice. I will eat my green beans every time that they are prepared like this.

I hope you enjoy!!

Love to you all from The Busy Cooking Momma!!
