20 Freezer Meals: Chicken Thighs with Honey Soy Garlic Sauce

Our first recipe for the series is a great slow cooker dump meal that has tons of flavor but saves tons of time.

I created this recipe when I had some extra chicken thighs that I just did not know what to do with. So, I decided to create prepare an Asian flare meal. And man oh man, it is a winner. The hubby even said that it tastes like it came from a local Asian restaurant they we love. To me, that is a very high compliment!

This recipe will give you TWO meals for the freezer. If you want to just make one batch, just half the ingredients (which I have listed in parentheses).

Now on to the recipe!

You will need:
4 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cubed (2 lbs)
2 large onions, sliced (1)
2 cups honey (1 cup)
1 cup soy sauce (1/2 cup)
6 Tbsp minced garlic (3 T)
2 tsp ground ginger (1 tsp)
1 tsp ground cumin (1/2 tsp)
You favorite rice, cooked

Between two gallon size freezer bags, place 2 lbs of chicken in each bag.

Then add the onion,

honey,

soy sauce,

minced garlic,

ground ginger and cumin.

Seal each bag and remove as much air as possible. With bag sealed, mix all ingredients together to combine ingredients. Freeze flat it your freezer.

When ready to cook, thaw in refrigerator overnight. Dump contents in your slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 6 hours. Serve over your choice of rice.

You are going to love the flavors you get from this meal. I also love how the flavors really come to life when they are left to marinate.

I serve this over brown rice and it is amazing. White rice would be wonderful as well. However, my hubby prefers brown rice, so that is what I use when preparing this meal.

I hope you enjoy!!

Love to you all from The Busy Cooking Momma!
